Sony Fe 85 F1.4

Sony FE 85mm F1.4 GM is a full-frame E-mount prime lens from Sony’s G Master series. Its 85mm focal length gives a flattering view for portraits, weddings, events, and people photography. The bright F1.4 aperture also performs well in low light. In addition, it gives strong control over depth of field and helps separate the subject from the background. The lens uses 11 elements in 8 groups. The optical design includes three ED glass elements and one XA element. Therefore, it helps reduce color fringing while maintaining clear detail across the image. Nano AR Coating also helps reduce flare and ghosting. As a result, images can retain better contrast in scenes with strong light sources. The 11-blade circular aperture creates smooth background blur. Moreover, the F1.4 aperture works with the 85mm focal length to produce strong subject separation. The autofocus system uses a Direct Drive SSM motor. Therefore, it provides fast and precise focusing while keeping operation quiet. This also makes the lens suitable for both photography and video. The minimum focus distance is 0.85m. Maximum magnification reaches 0.12x, making the lens well suited to portraits rather than close-up macro work. The lens includes a focus hold button and a focus mode switch. In addition, its aperture ring provides direct control over the lens opening. Sony also gives the lens a dust- and moisture-resistant design. Therefore, it can handle demanding shooting conditions with suitable care. The lens weighs approximately 820g and measures about 89.5 × 107.5mm. It also accepts 77mm filters. Despite its F1.4 aperture, the design remains practical for professional portrait work. Manufacturer’s link Check out other options here!
