Canon RF 16-28mm f/2.8 IS STM Lens

Canon RF 16-28mm F2.8 IS STM is a wide-angle zoom lens for Canon EOS R-series cameras. It covers 16-28mm and uses a constant f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range. Therefore, it suits landscapes, interiors, architecture, travel, and video work. The optical design contains 16 elements in 13 groups. It includes four Ultra-low Dispersion elements and two aspherical elements. Additionally, Canon uses Super Spectra Coating to support the optical design. The lens has nine aperture blades. Built-in optical image stabilization provides up to 5.5 stops of correction. When combined with compatible in-body stabilization, the system provides up to 8 stops at the center. Corner correction reaches up to 7.5 stops. The STM focusing system uses a leadscrew-type stepping motor. It provides fast autofocus for still photography and quiet focusing during video recording. Moreover, the lens supports full-time manual focusing with compatible EOS R-series cameras. The minimum focusing distance is 0.25 meters at 16mm and 0.20 meters at 28mm. Maximum magnification reaches 0.11x at 16mm and 0.26x at 28mm. Therefore, the lens can also focus on subjects at close distances. The lens provides a diagonal angle of view from approximately 108°10″ to 75°. It accepts 67mm filters and uses a metal RF mount. Furthermore, Canon provides dust- and weather-resistant construction for the lens. The retracting design keeps the lens compact when stored. It weighs approximately 445g and measures 91mm when retracted. At 16mm, its length reaches 112.8mm, while 28mm measures 102.1mm. Manufacturer’s link Check out other options here!
