Sigma 28 F2.8

The Sigma 16-28mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary is a full-frame ultra-wide zoom for mirrorless cameras. The Sony E-mount version provides a 107° to 75.4° angle of view. Therefore, it covers a broad range for wide-angle photography. Its constant F2.8 aperture maintains the same maximum brightness throughout the zoom range. Additionally, the nine-blade rounded diaphragm supports smooth out-of-focus rendering. The minimum aperture is F22. The optical design uses 16 elements in 11 groups. It includes five FLD elements and four aspherical elements. Furthermore, Sigma uses field curvature correction to support edge-to-edge sharpness across the frame. The inner zoom mechanism keeps the lens length consistent while zooming. As a result, the center of gravity remains relatively stable. This design also suits gimbal and handheld video setups. Autofocus uses a stepping motor for fast and quiet operation. Meanwhile, the minimum focusing distance is 25cm, with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:5.6. The lens also accepts 72mm filters. The Sony E-mount version measures 77.2mm in diameter and 102.6mm in length. It weighs approximately 450g. Finally, Sigma supplies the LH756-01 petal-type lens hood with the lens.
