Sigma 50 F2.8 For Sony

The Sigma 18–50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary is a compact standard zoom lens designed for APS-C mirrorless cameras. This Sony E-mount version provides a versatile 18–50mm focal range with a constant F2.8 maximum aperture. On APS-C cameras, it delivers a 27–75mm full-frame equivalent range, covering wide-angle to short telephoto perspectives. The lens uses 13 elements in 10 groups, including one SLD element and three aspherical elements. This optical design supports high image quality while keeping the lens compact. In addition, the constant F2.8 aperture allows consistent exposure across the entire zoom range and supports shallow depth-of-field effects. For focusing, the lens uses a stepping motor that provides fast and near-silent autofocus. Therefore, it suits both photography and video recording. Its minimum focusing distance ranges from 12.1cm at 18mm to 30cm at 50mm, while maximum magnification reaches 1:2.8 at the wide end. The compact Sony E-mount version measures 61.6mm in diameter and 76.5mm in length, while its weight is approximately 290g. It uses a 55mm filter size and features a 7-blade rounded diaphragm. The minimum aperture is F22. The lens includes the LH582-02 petal-type hood, LCF-55 III front cap, and LCR II rear cap. Its compact design makes it suitable for everyday shooting, travel, portraits, street photography, close-ups, and video applications. Manufacturer’s link Check out other options here!
