Sleek, Low-Profile Design with Black Finish for Architectural Integration The Bose DM5SE pair features a slim, circular grille and enclosure finished in a matte black color, perfect for blending into darker ceilings or spaces where a subtle but refined appearance is preferred. The grille attaches magnetically for a clean, flush installation that preserves ceiling aesthetics without visible screws or hardware. Paintability further enhances design flexibility, allowing customization to match ceiling colors or finishes precisely. The speakers’ compact dimensions enable installation in confined ceiling spaces, making the DM5SE ideal for a wide range of architectural environments where unobtrusive audio solutions are required. Two-Way Speaker System for Balanced Full-Range Audio Equipped with a 5.25-inch polypropylene woofer and a 1-inch soft dome tweeter , the DM5SE speakers form a two-way loudspeaker system engineered to deliver clear, balanced sound across a broad frequency range. The woofer provides rich low and mid frequencies, while the tweeter handles crisp, detailed highs. This design ensures excellent speech intelligibility and musical reproduction, making the DM5SE pair well-suited for background music, paging, and general audio reinforcement in commercial spaces. Bose’s proprietary waveguide technology further refines sound directivity, reducing distortion and enhancing clarity. Wide 110-Degree Dispersion for Consistent Coverage The DM5SE speakers provide a 110° conical coverage pattern , distributing sound evenly over listening areas to reduce hot spots and audio dropouts. This wide dispersion pattern is especially beneficial in medium-sized rooms, ensuring all occupants receive clear, consistent audio regardless of their position. This coverage allows for fewer speakers per zone, simplifying system design and reducing installation costs while maintaining a high-quality listening experience. Versatile Power Handling with Multi-Tap Transformer The Bose DM5SE ceiling speakers include a built-in multi-tap transformer, allowing compatibility with both low-impedance (8-ohm) and high-impedance distributed audio systems (70V/100V). This flexibility makes the DM5SE suitable for diverse commercial audio configurations, from direct drive to complex multi-zone systems. Power tap settings are easily adjustable via a front-access rotary switch, enabling installers to configure the speakers quickly and without removing them from the ceiling. Available taps include: 70V: 16W, 8W, 4W, 2W 100V: 16W, 8W, 4W 8-ohm bypass for direct low-impedance operation This capability enables precise audio balancing throughout the space and facilitates integration with existing sound systems. Commercial-Grade Durability and Safety Certifications Built to endure the demands of commercial installations, the DM5SE pair features a robust steel backcan and grille, certified for plenum installations in air-handling spaces. Compliance with UL 1480A and UL 2043 fire safety standards, along with CE and RoHS environmental certifications, assures installers and building managers of the speakers’ quality and safety.
