Sony Fe 50 F1.8

Sony FE 50mm F1.8 is a compact full-frame E-mount prime lens designed for everyday photography. Its 50mm focal length gives a natural view that works well for portraits, street scenes, travel, and general shooting. The F1.8 maximum aperture also helps in low-light conditions. In addition, it creates a shallow depth of field for clear subject separation and soft background blur. The optical design uses six elements in five groups. An aspherical element helps control optical errors and supports clear image quality across the frame. Moreover, the lens uses a double-gauss optical design to help reduce distortion. The lens uses a DC motor for autofocus. Therefore, it provides accurate focusing for still photography. The focus system also supports manual focus when you need more control. The minimum focus distance is 0.45m. Meanwhile, the maximum magnification reaches 0.14x. This makes the lens suitable for portraits and everyday subjects rather than close-up macro work. A seven-blade circular aperture helps create smooth background blur. As a result, the lens can produce attractive portraits with a soft background. The compact design makes this lens easy to carry. It measures approximately 68.6 × 59.5mm and weighs about 186g. Therefore, it works well as a lightweight lens for daily use. The lens also includes a focus mode switch for quick changes between autofocus and manual focus. Its front element uses a 49mm filter size. Overall, this prime lens offers a simple setup for Sony full-frame cameras. It combines a natural 50mm view, a bright F1.8 aperture, compact size, and low weight.
