Canon RF 85mm f/1.2 L USM DS Lens

The Canon RF 85mm f/1.2 L USM DS is a full-frame RF-mount prime lens for Canon EOS R cameras. It provides an 85mm focal length and a maximum f/1.2 aperture. The optical design uses 13 elements in 9 groups. It includes one BR optical element, one UD element, and one ground aspherical element. Also, Canon applies Air Sphere Coating and Defocus Smoothing technology. The DS coating creates smoother out-of-focus highlights around the subject. In addition, Canon designed the lens for portrait, fashion, wedding, and similar photography. For autofocus, the lens uses a ring-type USM drive system. Therefore, it provides fast and precise autofocus with compatible EOS R cameras. The minimum focusing distance is 0.85m. The maximum magnification reaches 0.12x. Furthermore, the lens uses a nine-blade circular aperture. Its aperture range extends from f/1.2 to f/16. The lens includes a control ring for direct setting changes. It also uses Canon’s 12-pin communication system. This system supports camera communication and in-camera lens correction functions. Canon applies fluorine coating to the lens. The lens also uses dust- and weather-resistant construction. Moreover, it accepts 82mm filters. The lens does not include optical image stabilization. It measures approximately 103.2mm in diameter and 117.3mm in length. Meanwhile, it weighs approximately 1,195g. Canon notes that the DS coating reduces peripheral light transmission. As a result, brightness at maximum aperture is about 1⅓ stops darker than standard f/1.2 transmission. Manufacturer’s link Check out other options here!
