Sony FE 300mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens (Sony E)

The Sony FE 300mm f/2.8 GM OSS is a full-frame telephoto prime lens for Sony E-mount cameras. It combines a 300mm focal length with a bright f/2.8 aperture. The lens uses three Super ED elements and one ED element. Therefore, Sony designed the optical system to control chromatic aberration. In addition, the lens provides G Master optical performance. The lens uses XD Linear Motors for fast and precise autofocus. Furthermore, it includes four customizable focus-hold buttons and a focus-range limiter. Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps reduce camera shake. The lens also supports compatible Sony 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters. As a result, users can extend the focal length when needed. The lens includes a function ring with assignable controls. It also uses an 11-blade circular aperture. Moreover, the lens supports a drop-in filter system. The minimum focusing distance is approximately 2m. The lens provides a maximum magnification ratio of 0.16x. In addition, Sony uses a dust- and moisture-resistant design for outdoor use. The lens measures approximately 124.8 × 265mm. Meanwhile, it weighs approximately 1,470g without the tripod mount. Therefore, its design balances a large aperture with a relatively light body.
