Cabasse ZEF 17 Black – Weather-Resistant Indoor/Outdoor 2-Way Speaker – 6.5″ Drivers – 80 W RMS / 560 W Peak (Pair) Product Overview Cabasse ZEF 17 Black – Weather-Resistant Indoor/Outdoor 2-Way Speaker – 6.5″ Drivers – 80 W RMS / 560 W Peak (Pair) engineered to deliver powerful, balanced sound across a wide range of environments, from modern living spaces to outdoor entertainment areas. Combining Cabasse’s rich heritage in acoustic engineering with a robust weather-resistant design, the ZEF 17 offers clarity, presence, and dynamic performance that elevates music and multimedia playback in both residential and professional settings. Whether integrated into a home audio system, outdoor patio setup, or commercial space requiring reliable distributed audio, the ZEF 17 stands out with its amplified low-frequency response, articulate midrange, and smooth, extended highs. Its weather-resilient enclosure, flexible mounting options, and expanded driver configuration make it an ideal choice for listeners who demand both sonic excellence and environmental durability. Acoustic Design & Driver Configuration The ZEF 17 adopts a 2-way acoustic architecture designed to optimize frequency coverage, dispersion, and tonal balance. At the heart of this design are: 1 × 25 mm (1″) dome tweeter , responsible for detailed and smooth high-frequency reproduction. 2 × 17 cm (6.5″) mid/bass drivers , delivering increased air movement and enhanced low-frequency presence compared to smaller outdoor models. This combination provides a broad frequency span and balanced energy distribution. The tweeter’s output is clear and extended, ensuring vocals and high-end detail remain crisp even in open spaces. Meanwhile, the dual mid/bass drivers handle rhythm and body with authority, producing low frequencies that feel both controlled and impactful without bloated or exaggerated tones. The passive crossover network is precisely tuned to ensure a seamless transition between drivers, preserving phase coherence and minimizing distortion. This results in a balanced, articulate, and lively presentation ideal for both background ambiance and more engaged listening. Performance & Tonal Characteristics The Cabasse ZEF 17 is designed to deliver performance that exceeds expectations for a speaker of its class: Low Frequencies: The twin 6.5″ drivers provide a deeper and more controlled bass response than typical outdoor speakers. Whether playing electronic music with substantial low end or ambient tracks with subtle bass lines, the ZEF 17 maintains composure and avoids the boominess often associated with outdoor sound systems. Midrange Detail: Vocals and acoustic instruments are distinguished with clarity and natural timbre. The midrange remains prominent without overwhelming other parts of the spectrum, making the speaker suitable for spoken word, podcast playback, and live session recordings. High Frequencies: The tweeter delivers smooth, extended highs that add air and sparkle without harshness, even at elevated listening levels. These refined highs complement the rich midrange and robust bass, resulting in a coherent and satisfying overall sound signature. Power Handling & Dynamic Capability Power handling is a critical aspect of outdoor and high-output speakers. The Cabasse ZEF 17 is rated with: 80 W RMS power handling , enabling sustained high-quality performance over long listening sessions. 560 W peak power capability , providing headroom for dynamic and transitory musical peaks without strain or distortion. These ratings ensure reliability and durability even when driven by powerful amplifiers or multi-zone audio systems. With a nominal impedance of 4 Ω and sensitivity around 88 dB (1 W / 1 m) , the ZEF 17 can be driven efficiently by a wide array of AV receivers, integrated amplifiers, or dedicated outdoor audio amps. This versatility makes the speaker compatible with both consumer and professional audio configurations. Weather Resistance & Durability One of the defining strengths of the ZEF 17 is its weather-resistant construction , designed to withstand changing environmental conditions without compromising acoustic performance. The enclosure, grille, and driver components are treated and sealed to resist moisture and humidity typically encountered in outdoor or semi-exposed areas. This weather resilience makes the ZEF 17 suitable for: Terraces and patios Poolside lounges Gardens and backyard entertainment zones Commercial outdoor seating areas Indoor spaces requiring rugged, dependable speakers While not designed for full water immersion, the ZEF 17 confidently handles routine outdoor use with strength and longevity. Installation & Mounting Flexibility The ZEF 17 includes a heavy-duty adjustable mounting bracket that supports secure and precise installation on walls, columns, or structural surfaces. This bracket allows for both horizontal and vertical orientation , and offers a 90° swivel adjustment , empowering installers and users to aim sou
